Resident. A common species found in southern England
and some parts of Wales.
Montgomeryshire Status
First recorded in 2013 at Middletown in the east of the county. This
was the very first record for north Wales.

A fairly distinctive species.

Habitat
Woodland margins and hedgerows.
Foodplant
Hawthorn, blackthorn. plum, small-leaved cotoneaster.
Lifestage data
Leaf miner/web forming. Eggs laid on twig. Larva first mines leaf
forming small holes, then feeds communally under a web. Overwinters as
larva. Pupates in spring without a cocoon
